Volunteers for the Stormwater Cleanup Along Sinking Creek

On Saturday June 2, 2007 a group of volunteers gathered to clean trash, debris and any thing that did not belong in the Creek. The group started from at N. Greenwood St. and worked along the creek under the square Spring St.

The Volunteers Gathered and Removed Debris, Trash, Carpet, Tires and Many Other Forms of Litter From the Creek. Over 6 cu.yds. of compacted trash, 30 tires, 2500 lb. of heavy metals was just part of litter hauled away.

Not Only Does This Litter Detract from the Beauty of the Creek and the City, but it Contaminates the Streams and is Detrimental to the Life the Waters Support.

After a Day of Hard Work, It is Time for a Much Needed Break! City Employees, Danny Turnbull, Seth Rivard, and Will Hager Enjoy Lunch on the Square. Thanks to all the Volunteers who made this Stormwater Cleanup Day a Success, and Thanks for Your Concern for Our City and It’s Streams.
