Infant and Preschool Learn-to-Swim Lessons
| We are happy you chose the City of Lebanon's Learn-to-Swim lessons for your child. Comfort and confidence in and around the water is important for all ages. Our classes are taught through a progression of skills whether your child is an infant, toddler, or preschooler. Following American Red Cross (ARC) guidelines, ARC Water Safety Instructors and or assistants provide training in basic water safety.
| Swim Levels and Learn-to-Swim Class Descriptions
| | Level: | Infant/Parent | | Age: | 6-24 months | | Prerequisites: | Parent or other adult in the water may accompany child up to 18 months in the water. | | Skills Taught: | Basic skills include: Entering and exiting the water, kicking, front and back supported floating, dipping, jumping in, recovering to and holding on to side, gliding and rolling over.
| | Level: | Preschool Level 1 | | Age: | 2-4 years | | Prerequisites: | None. | | Skills Taught: | Orientation to the water. Basic skills include all of the skills in the Infant/Parent class above. Parents are not allowed in the water.
| | Level: | Preschool Level 2 | | Age: | 2-4 years | | Prerequisites: | Successful completion of Preschool Level 1 | | Skills Taught: | Holds breath. holding breath with and without face in the water, supported front and back float, supported glide to the wall, supported glide and roll over and rest, supported kicking on front and back.
