This was the result of a three-year voluntary process to maintain recognition. CALEA requires professional practices and standards to guide the department in a continued effort to maintain professional police service to our community. CALEA accreditation shows that the LPD is dedicated to providing the best police services possible. The accreditation manager represents the department at CALEA conferences and attends numerous training sessions to maintain an in-depth understanding of CALEA requirements.
