Employee Spotlight
On March 19, 2008 at 0956 a.m., Officer Marlene Guthrie/wayne Howard/Alison Steely responded to a call of an unconscious person, later identified as James Mike Davis. Mr. Davis was driving his 2004 Chevy Impala when he exited the roadway and came to rest in a ditch near 1432 West Main, Crye-Leike. Upon officer arrival Mr. Davis was unresponsive, not breathing and had no pulse. Officers Guthrie and Howard removed Mr. davis from the vehicle, while Officer Steely retrieved Officer Guthries Automated External Defibrillator (AED). Office Howard began chest compressions on Mr. Davis, and was later shocked once by the AED. There was no pulse after the shock, so chest compressions were started by Officer Guthrie and later checked for a pulse. Once again, there was no pulse so a second shock was administered with the AED. Mr. Davis was immediately brought back to life and began to gasp for air but was not fully conscious. Mr. Davis was later transported to UMC and the St. Thomas for further evaluations.

Due to quick response time and attention to life saving efforts Mr. Davis was brought back to life by the assistance of all personnel involved. It is with great pleasure to award Officer Marlene Guthrie, Officer wane Howard and Officer Allison Steely the Life Saving Award. ach officer is a valuable asset tot he Lebanon Police Department and their efforts on March 19th have shown a true dedication to service.
