Recruitment

The Lebanon Police Department is aggressively involved in recruiting qualified employee candidates. During 2007, department employees have participated in job fairs, career days, career lectures, and ride along programs. In 2006 a recruitment team was formed which includes department employees from different demographics and agency components. This will help the department to maintain a demographic make-up that mirrors the community. Close liaison is maintained with Cumberland University's criminal justice program and the department hosts an internship program where enrolled students must complete a 100-hour practicum.

Those interested in a career at the Lebanon Police Department can contact the City Of Lebanon personnel department at 615-443-2809 or you can contact Lt. Brent Willett, Recruitment Specialist at 615-453-4329. Entry-level officer candidates are required to take a written exam. If selected, officer candidates are then scheduled for a panel interview. If the officer candidate is then selected they must successfully complete a physical and psychological exam along with a CVSA exam and background investigation.
