Leagues/Programs

T-ball/Coach Pitch Baseball
The Lebanon Recreation Department sponsors a T-ball and Coach Pitch program, which begins in the spring. The goal of this program is to teach children ages 5-8 the fundamentals of baseball. There are about 300 children in this program. This program is instructional. Every child gets to play. The focus of the program is on teamwork and having fun through the sport of baseball. The games are played at the softball fields next to Cainsville Baptist Church. Every child gets a shirt and a hat as well as a trophy for their participation. The Recreation department is responsible for registration, scheduling, drafting of teams buying equipment, insurance, and officials, and maintaining the two fields used by this program.
Jr. Pro Football
The Lebanon Recreation Department also has a Jr. Pro Football Program that begins in August. The Junior Division consists of seven, eight, and nine year old, and the Senior Division consist of ten, eleven, and twelve year olds. Each division plays one night a week for six weeks. Total participation in this league is about 200 players. The games are played at our football field located behind Walter J. Baird Middle School on Monday and Thursday nights. The Recreation Department is responsible for registration, scheduling, drafting of teams, purchasing uniforms, insurance, and equipment, as well as maintaining the field. The goal of this program is to teach children the fundamentals of football. This program also allows the children to have fun through sport and healthy competition. Along with the football teams, the Recreation Department allows each team to have a cheerleading squad. The cheerleaders can cheer during the games and perform for a few minutes during halftime. Each football player receives a jersey and a trophy for playing in the program.
Jr. Pro Basketball
In November, the Recreation Department has a Jr. Pro Basketball Program for boys and girls ages 9-12. This program is divided into three divisions that include: Girls division, ages 9-12, Jr. Division Boys 9-10, and Sr. Division Boys 11-12.The program has a total participation of about 200 players. The games are played during the week at the Harold Dean Greer Recreation Center. This program is also instructional. It teaches children the fundamentals of Basketball, and allows them to compete in the sport of basketball and have fun at the same time. Everyone receives a shirt and a trophy for participating. The Recreation Department is in charge of scheduling, registration, buying equipment, insurance, and officials, as well as the maintenance of the Harold Dean Greer Recreation Center.
Lebanon Girl's Softball Association
A new softball complex was also added for the Lebanon Girls Softball Association. The Lebanon Girls Softball Association is for girls, ages 4-18 years of age. LGSA is responsible for the registration, scheduling, and buying uniforms, insurance, and equipment for this league. Total participation in this league is about 350.
Youth Baseball
Lebanon has several Civic Clubs and organizations that use our facilities and athletic fields at Baird Park. Each club or organization is responsible for running their respective leagues. The Recreation Department, however, is responsible for maintaining the facilities and athletic fields for their use. The use of our facilities by others helps us to provide more programs for the citizens of our city.
The Lion’s Club is responsible for the Lebanon Babe Ruth Baseball league. This league is for players ages 13-16 years old. The average participation in this league is about 200 youth. The Lion’s Club is responsible for scheduling practices and games, Concessions, registration, and buying uniforms, insurance, equipment, and officials. The Recreation Department is responsible for the full maintenance and cleaning of the ball field utilized by this league.

The Kiwanis Club has a Baseball Little League for children ages 8-12 years old. The total participation in this league is 250 youth. The Kiwanis Club is responsible for scheduling practices and games, registration, concessions, and buying uniforms, insurance, equipment, and officials. The Recreation Department is responsible for the cleaning and maintenance of the two ball fields utilized by this league.

The Rotary Dixie Youth is another Baseball Little League for children ages 9-12 years old. The total participation in this league is also 250 youth. The Rotary Club is also responsible for scheduling practices and games, registration, concessions, and buying uniforms, insurance, equipment, and officials. The Recreation Department is responsible for the cleaning and maintenance of the two ball fields utilized by this league.



Lebanon Youth Soccer Association
The Recreation Department is responsible for the cleaning and maintenance of the City of Lebanon's three soccer fields that are off of Castle Heights Avenue, next to the Lebanon Airport. The Lebanon Youth Soccer Association is responsible for scheduling practices and games, registration, and puchasing uniforms, equipment, insurance, and officials. The league is open to children 4-18 years of age. The league has both a spring season and a fall season. There are currently about 700 children that participate in this league.
