Caregiver Support Group
Being a caregiver for someone with a chronic illness is not any easy task. It can add a lot of stress to your life and can affect your health as well. Sometimes it just helps to be able to talk to someone who is in the same situation that you are in. We have a Caregiver Support Group that meets on Tuesday August 5th at 9:00 am. We have members who are serving as caregivers for their loved ones, such as a spouse, parent, sibling, or friend. Joining us each month are Blair from Odyssey Hospice and Tasha from Home Instead Senior Care. Come and share with other who are dealing with the same problems and get answers from healthcare professionals.

Grief Support Group
The grief of losing someone that you love cannot be known until you are placed in that situation. Everyone experiences grief in their own way. There is no right or wrong in grieving. We have a Grief Support Group that meets the second Tuesday of each month at 9:30 a.m. Our group is designed to bring people together who share a common experience – the loss of a loved one. Whether it has been 2 months or 5 years, the pain of loss can still be very intense. If you are dealing with the loss of a loved one, please join us for a strictly confidential meeting to share feelings and offer support.

Driver's Safety Class Scheduled for August

We will be hosting an AARP Driver Safety Class here at the center on August 28th and 29th from 12:30 until 4:00.  The class is great for anyone over the age of 55 to teach you how to be more alert and safe on the roads.  Many insurance companies offer discounts to those who take the classes.  The class consists of two days and you must attend both classes to receive your certificate.  The cost for the class is $15 fo AARP member and $20 for non-AARP members.  Space is limited so call the office to sign up.

Computer Classes space available
Our Basic Computer Classes, taught by Jimmy Counts, will start back on Thursday, August 7th and will continue every Thursday for 6 weeks.  Space is limited so please sign up in advance if you are interested.  We do have space available.  Now is the time to learn more about your computer.
