POSITION: Economic Development Director

DESCRIPTION OF POSITION: To direct and coordinate activities within the realm of Economic and Community Development; administer the economic development program including prospect development, industry contact, and negotiation with industry representatives to encourage locations within the City of Lebanon; provide highly responsible and complex administrative support to the Mayor, City Council and various boards.



                                                MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university with major coursework in economic development, urban planning, marketing, business administration or related field or equivalent experience. Three to five years of increasingly responsible experience in economic development or equivalent professional experience including two years of administrative experience.

DESCRIPTION OF POSITION: Operates light equipment such as a dump truck, crew truck, asphalt spreader as utilized in construction, maintenance, and repair activities; performs a variety of semi-skilled tasks in the maintenance of roads, sewer, water and gas systems, right-of-ways, bridges, and storm drainage systems; performs related work as assigned.



                                    MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

High School diploma or GED or one year of experience involving the use of light to medium sized equipment, some of which must have been related to Street construction repair maintenance.


Valid Tennessee driver’s license and CDL license or ability to obtain one within 90 days of hire.

Successful report from physical examination including drug screening.
