Responsibilities

The City of Lebanon Building Inspection Department:

  • Issues Building Permits and conduct inspections for residential and commercial Construction
  • Receives applications for building permits for properties within the corporate boundaries of the City of Lebanon
  • Reviews all plans and specifications for commercial construction projects

Inspection Types

Inspections to include but not limited to:

  • Existing buildings for change of occupancy
  • Footings/foundations
  • Framing
  • New business licenses
  • Plumbing

We have a highly trained staff of certified inspectors on board who routinely provide useful information regarding the city's various codes and ordinances.


Note: We do not permit or conduct electrical inspections. Those are handled by the State of Tennessee deputy electrical inspector. Questions regarding electrical work may be answered by contacting the authority having jurisdiction.
