The City of Lebanon is located in middle Tennessee approximately 25 miles east of downtown Nashville. It is the county seat of Wilson County. Originally incorporated in 1801, it was named after the biblical cedars of Lebanon. The city is home to Cumberland University and major corporations such as Cracker Barrel, Performance Food Group, and Lochinvar. The city has a total area of approximately 38.63 square miles.
The Lebanon Police Department was founded on May 2, 1819. The current structure, the LR Jones Police Facility, was built in 1993 and is located at 406 Tennessee Blvd., Lebanon, TN, 37087.
Chief Mike Justice commands the department of 136 employees. The department is comprised of 3 major divisions; Patrol, Special Operations, and Administrative Services. The department is certified and accredited through Tennessee Law Enforcement Accreditation (TLEA).
